Briggs and Stratton Model 19 engine was completely overhauled. Initially, the working of engine was explained to the students, which involved all the theoretical aspects of an engine. Students got the chance to interact with those parts, and learn what really goes inside an engine block.
ASME CEA conducted an orientation session for First Years of College of Engineering Adoor, on 26 October, 2022. The session was named 'Genesis', marking a new beginning for the freshers at our campus.
ASME CEA conducted a CASE STUDY competition at 21st October 2022, with 30 members taking part. The session started by giving a brief idea about 5S principles of Safety, followed by a cross-word puzzle and gameplay on Jumbled Safety quotations.
ASME CEA held a case study competition to develop the problem-solving skills of the young generation. The Hyatt Regency Walkway Collapse was chosen as the case study and the professor explained the case and problems to the competitors.
ASME CEA conducted a CAD workshop cum Cadathon named Inceptus on 18th June 2022, led by Govind Reghuvaran. The workshop focused on designing and modelling parts in Autodesk Inventor, and 47 students competed in the Cadathon.
On the occasion of World Metrology Day on 20th May 2022, ASME CEA successfully conducted an online quiz competition. The quiz was conducted at National level, and there was active participation from students all over India.
ASME CEA conducted a seminar on sustainable development at SDPK hall. The ideas included harvesting energy from foot movements, solar energy harvesting, waste water treatment and e-magazines. A still model of the mechanical block was created to illustrate how the ideas can be installed in the campus.
ASME CEA conducted an article writing competition on the topic of Advancement of women in engineering as a part of international women’s day celebration. The competition created the students to gather information and learn about the women in engineering.
On the occasion of National Science Day on 28th February 2022, ASME CEA successfully conducted an online quiz competition on the platform of google forms. The event marked a participation of 74 students from various departments of the college.
ASME India Section conducted an ASME Awareness Session on 23.02.2022. Ms. Tanya Rodrigues discussed the activities and works of ASME, role of ASME Student Sections, and how to engage in student activities and competitions.
Chrysalis was a transition phase activity for newly added members to know about ASME Student Section. It was conducted on 18th February 2022 at 1:30 pm in SDPK hall of Dept. of Mechanical Engineering. It was an awareness programme on the student section handbook.
The relaunch of ASME CEA Student Section was held to officially announce the revitalized status of the student section. The logo launch was carried out by respected principal Dr. K Sunil Kumar, followed by an introduction to ASME.
